Science Class Kills Faith Amongst Millennials

I’ve often felt that science class kills faith amongst today’s youth and 20-somethings, and that’s too bad because, while science is interesting and helpful in understanding our universe, it doesn’t even touch the most interesting questions such as, “who am I” and “why am I here?”

Many years ago now the Star Trek franchise explored this idea in their first motion picture staring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Shatner played the often emotional hotheaded, hard-charging star ship captain, while Nimoy’s played the alien half-Vulcan character which was much more complex and interesting, complete with a struggle against unnecessary human emotion.

Kirk and Spock encounter an alien entity that is on it’s way to Earth, presumably to invade. The crew of the Enterprise must figure out how to stop what appears to be a vastly superior life form before it decimates the planet. They learn through exploration that the life form is something humans created many years ago, a living breathing artificial conscious that is exploring its own meaning and attempting to find it’s “god” or creator.

Spock risks his own life to conduct a mind-meld with the creature (don’t make me explain that to non-trekkers!) and discovers the entity’s ulterior motive. There is a touching moment when Spock is recovering in the sick bay of the space ship Enterprise where the Vulcan explains his Earth-shattering discovery to his captain and friend, Jim Kirk. “This simple feeling is beyond Veeger’s (the entity) grasp. No feelings, no hope, no answers. It’s asking questions!”

“What questions?” Kirk asks.

“Is this, ALL that I Am?” replies Spock, grasping his friend’s hand. “Is there nothing more?!”

Science classes in both high school and college kills any pursuit of this question by brain washing students into thinking they are just animals, though high functioning animals on the food chain with the rest of the animals. They are the results of millions, sorry, billions of years of mistakes and chance mutations unguided by any sentient being that eventually ends up in a complex world we live in. Any indication that all this complexity is the result of intelligent design is merely a mirage or coincidence.

Serious scientists deny the metaphysical as being non-existent or irrelevant, unless of course they need it to explain something they can’t explain. Frank Sherwin illustrates this phenomenon in his article for ICR “The Strange Metaphysical World of Evolution”. You can read the article here.

Sherwin states, “Secular colleges and universities, the media, and the Internet are alive with vitriolic accusations regarding the supposedly unscientific nature of creation science.

“But is evolutionary science itself “scientific”? In opposition to what is normally claimed, it would seem that when it comes to the supernatural, secular science not only believes in it—it also depends on it.”

Sherwin sites examples of when supposed secular scientists drift into the metaphysical.

Apparently, evolutionary scientists believe in ghosts. When tetrapod tracks are found in Earth strata far deeper than their fossilized remains, that causes a problem of dates for the evolutionist, a factor of 18 million years worth.

Of course, scientists who believe in abrupt appearance or intelligent design have a solution to this problem. There was a flood and all of these creatures lived around the same time and were buried and fossilized at the same time, a theory the evolutionist totally reject as fantasy. But we are expected to believe in “ghost tracks”?

Sherwin has another example. Evolutionary biologists explain away seemingly complex design as compatible with the evolutionary model by citing, “magic” as their excuse. What?

Kathryn Applegate of BioLogos said, “The bacterial flagellum may look like an outboard motor, but there is at least one profound difference: the flagellum assembles spontaneously, without the help of any conscious agent.” Acknowledging that “the self-assembly of such a complex machine almost defies the imagination,” Dr. Applegate assures the reader that this is not really a problem, because “natural forces work ‘like magic.’”5

A little explanation may be in order. Some bacteria exhibit motility through a projection like a hair that moves in a rotary motion like an outboard boat motor, called a flagellum. It moves them forward and backward, at different speeds and is really complex, making it hard to explain away through evolutionary methods. If evolution were a fact, then any mutation to create such a complex motor would have to be made in one step, which is not what the evolutionary model espouses. Any half measures of evolution would render such a system worthless and would die off before the trait was passed on. And this is a one-celled organism we’re talking about, not a more complex life form like a dog, an ape, or a man.

When explaining the motion of the cosmos, and why it defies evolutionary computer models, evolutionists make things up to explain it away, conjuring up dark energy and dark matter to bridge the gap.

Frank explains, “evolutionists believe in mysterious powers, like “the 5th Force: a mysterious new power [that] is shaping our cosmos,” according to New Scientist. The article says, “A force that keeps changing its spots might explain the mysteries of dark energy,” although this cryptic dark energy “has never been seen or produced on Earth.”3

Sherwin continues, “Some evolutionists believe in invisible hands:

“Our findings confirm that cooperation does not always require benevolence or deliberate planning. This form of cooperation, at least, is guided by an “invisible hand,” as happens so often in Darwin’s theory of natural selection.4”

My millennial nephew would swear that his eyes will bleed if he hears one more time that it takes just as much faith to believe in “science” that it does for “religion” that is translated, “evolution” vs. “creation”. Well cover your eyes and ears young nephew because I would reply that it does, and while evolutionists don’t mention it in textbooks, they sure will cite their faith in candid interviews outside the classroom.

Churches help the evolutionists inadvertently by contributing to the millennial unbelief by being irrelevant to their needs. There are ways to reverse that but it will take effort, and that is that churches need to address the issue of science in a way that educates the student on the errors and shortfalls of evolution and presents scientific information about creation that isn’t insulting to the intelligence of our youth. That means that youth pastors will have to get science instruction themselves before they present to the youth. But that is a subject for another day.

Bottom line is this, science is great, but is only one leg of the three legged stool called truth. The other two legs are called religion and philosophy, both touching the metaphysical realm that scientists say don’t exist. Ignoring a thing doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. The problem of who we are, where we came from and what we might become are questions that are too weighty for science alone to answer.

Liberal Education Teaches Children to Disregard the Bible

by Jeremy Griffith
Creator of American Millennium Online

foto_universo_04Glenn Beck and Company have been talking at length recently about the dangerous takeover of our education system by Progressive educators, specifically through the programs C-Scope and Common Core. But the Progressives have been slowly taking over the education system for years and their main weapon in this takeover has always been to teach their brand of Progressive science and get our children to disregard the Bible as a quaint, outdated myth.

Andrew Breitbart, the famous Blogger and media personality and visionary, God Bless his soul, said that politics is downstream from culture. He is absolutely right and that is why we are losing today’s youth at the ballot box. The Progressives are effectively using media, entertainment and education to shape the minds of our kids which is why when they get to be the age to vote, they make the wrong choices, choosing goofy liberals like Barack Obama over sane alternatives. Those politicians are depicted as hip and with it, while in the meantime, conservatives are thought of and projected as backwards, Bible believing throwbacks.

The problem with this picture the youth has of our world is that it is based on a lie, and a clever one, taught to them at a very young age, in our Progressive public schools. The main weapon of this indoctrination has always been, the theory of Evolution. Only when we delve into the details of this flawed theory and method of education can we expose the problems and outright lies being taught. If we don’t confront our education system with this systemic lie, we will never reclaim our kids or our future.

Here are a couple of lies and myths that are being taught in school as fact.

“Science shows that life began through purely natural means, without the help of a mythical, all powerful being.”

This is a lie, science has shown no such thing and when you delve into the facts, you find there are more problems with the evolutionary theory than there is with a Biblical view of Creation.

Here is one way that evolutionists like to demonstrate their theory as fact.

“The geological column and the paleontological record shows that life evolved on this planet over billions of years.”

That claim is false. The geological column is a model that shows the rock layers of the Earth from the deepest to the shallowest in the order of what they are thought to appear. These layers of Earth also have dates associated with them showing the best guess of scientists when these rock layers were formed from an evolutionary standpoint. The paleontological record is the record of fossils of extinct species in these rock layers that further validates the dating methods of evolutionary scientists. It shows the natural progression from simple life forms at the beginning, to more complex forms higher up.

The problem with this model is that it appears nowhere in nature. In actual fact, these rock layers are often found in much different order based on geographic location and indeed are folded together with rock layers that should have been formed billions of years later.

The fossil record to is a problem too. Often you find very simple life forms that are supposedly billions of years old at the same depth or higher than more recent fossils. My favorite fossil is a set of very human looking foot prints in the same soil as set of ancient dinosaur prints.

Scientists teach our students that the Earth has no special place in the universe and that life that created itself from nothing and started here, could very easily start very easily elsewhere. This is called the Copernicus Principle and it is the basis of much of what is taught in science instruction today. The problem with this principle is that it is mischaracterized and misconstrued to the point that the original meaning of this principle has been lost.

Nicolas Copernicus was an early scientist living in the 16th century that claimed that the Earth is not central in our solar system, that it in fact orbits the sun along with the other planets. This of course is correct and the common view of today. But the theory has been twisted beyond its original intent to say that there is nothing special about Earth and its location, that if evolution is true there should be thousands maybe millions of Earthlike planets out there, and they’re cropping up all the time as the universe evolves. This theory has been espoused by many great scientists, chief among them the late great Carl Sagan.

But when we observe the universe with our own eyes we see the opposite is true. The Earth occupies a habitability zone that is perfect and critically important to create and sustain life. It is so unique indeed that we have never found anything like it after all our years looking through the telescope. The universe is so vast that even if there were other inhabitable worlds, we could never reach them even if we achieved light speed. So the fact is the Earth IS unique and special, just like the Bible says it is.

Evolutionists have gone far out of their way to prove their  theory as fact that they have even committed fraud to do so. So called ape-man links have repeatedly been exposed to be outright frauds; and sketches of the fetuses of different lifeforms when compared to humans have been doctored to show a relationship that doesn’t actually exist.  Movies like Inherit The Wind are created to falsely show the victory of this brand of science over religion changes the facts so grossly as to lie about the actual outcome of the famous Scopes monkey trial and all of the important details of the case. (Watch this humorous and short video on a fictional debate between an evolutionist and creationist on the movie Inherit The Wind. )

The left’s position in schools when it comes to science instruction is so shaky that school boards won’t tolerate even the mention of creation science theory for fear that they will lose the near perfect strangle hold on our kids, and they are right. If the children are presented an idea that differs from what they are being instructed, they might, horror of horrors, start thinking for themselves and questioning things they are taught. That’s too dangerous for a Progressive to tolerate, so they bombard school districts with lawsuit after lawsuit until they get their way.

If we are going to win back the culture, we can’t cede this battle to the Progressives. Science is fun and important but it doesn’t answer any of the really interesting questions, who are we and where do we come from? Where are we going, is there life after death?  Are we more important than the animals or are we just animals ourselves with no real purpose? These are the questions our children are struggling with, whether they are equipped in our schools to handle them or not. The outcome is obvious. A child trained that he is accountable for his very soul to an Almighty God who created him and everything else is far less likely to shoot up a classroom of sixth graders than a boy who is taught he is an animal and there is no real purpose to this life. This is the real battle we are facing, not gay marriage or gun control, but the purpose for life and higher meaning. Can we really just let it slide and let the Progressives win? I think not.

Either the Bible is true or it isn’t. I think the next generation, with proper instruction on how to think for themselves, are smart enough to figure that out for themselves. What harm can there be in teaching the Christian axiom, “do onto others as you would have done to you?” There is danger in the other worldview, we’ve seen it at places like Sandy Hook.

Atheists are Idiots, (And So Are We!)

Last Days Madness: Obsession of the Modern Church by Gary DeMar -American Vision

Above my doorway between the kitchen and my living room, I have a sign. It has a verse of the Bible, Jeremiah 29:11. It reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Now I could quote you any famous quotation, from Shakespeare, to Euclid, to Cicero or Kant. Perhaps Nietzsche is your bag, it doesn’t matter who. I chose this saying for a purpose, actually two purposes, but the main one is to demonstrate this, reason and logic as the source of information.

You see, even an atheist, frothing at the mouth in his horror at being subjected to any concept religious or especially Christian has an understanding about what this verse means. He can tell you, after he or she gets over his complete disgust at the insult made upon his person to be subjected to the idea or concept of a creator God who has a plan for us out there in the universe can tell you what this verse means and be fairly accurate at doing so, even if they claim not to be interested or familiar with ideals of faith. Why? Information. This passage contains information and data, logically ordered in an easy to understand code that passes on information and a message to the reader that the reader can understand and relay back to the one reading it. Why is this important? Because the froth-mouth atheist in his most honest moment must admit that he has no idea or explanation adequate to articulate where information comes from, how it is created or who it’s author may be. (We all can use information and share it through language, but where does information come from in the first place?)

You see, regardless of what quote I give you at the top of this page, it’s immaterial. I chose this one concept for the secondary purpose of pissing off the atheist because I think it’s funny to see them rant and rave and carry on about how insulted they are, my secondary purpose. But the first purpose was to demonstrate how ideas can be passed along by language and information that though we disagree about the nature or truthfulness of that information, we never the less can understand the concepts being shared and there is the conundrum. Why is this so?

An atheist, or an agnostic who is nothing more or less than an atheist who attempts to disguise who he is, has no good explanation of where information comes from. The evolutionists, or atheist who happens to be a scientist as well, will tell you that before the world or universe was created, there was nothing, and this supposed nothing exploded without cause or impetus or design purpose what so ever. Then after the nothing that preceded everything that blew up for no particular reason expanded over billions of years and was very hot, though no one knows why, and then, for no particular reason again that nothing that is now everything that blew up without reason and expanded for who knows why suddenly began cooling and contracting and formed the stars the worlds and what have you.

Then, after billions of more years where nothing much happened, some chemicals that formed out of the nothing that preceded everything got together for who has the foggiest and spontaneously made the first living cell, no small feat, for no reason at all. Not knowing what its purpose was or caring much at all that first cell all on its own knew that it had to reproduce itself and feed itself and did so until suddenly there were many cells mutating and growing and changing into more complex life forms that also knew how to eat and breed and take care of themselves even though there was no one or nothing to show them how. Let’s not forget that in light of all of this the mind numbing opportunistic chance that there was nutrients and conditions ripe for these early life forms to thrive, otherwise it would have been all for naught.

Are you starting to see what I’m up to? The atheistic worldview is worthless garbage. But the Christian worldview has everything, an easy to understand logical explanation for the source of all life that gives us purpose and vision for this life.

You see, atheist and evolutionists think they are pretty smart, but they really aren’t. Because nowhere in their theories do they bother to explain where information comes from that orders everything into something and creates the very complex biosphere we have with all the biodiversity of life forms we see. That is pretty arrogant, and in my view, ignorant.

I can understand the atheist, he really is quite simple. Why do you suppose they push this absurd idea upon us that there is no God and all of nature is really just the product of billions of years of chance and mutation, even though there is myriad evidence to the contrary? Well for the simpleton who is the atheist and evolutionist, the thought that he or she is not accountable to a creator God is quite liberating and intellectually satisfying to them. They don’t have to follow anyone’s rules, so they can make up their own. Which brings us to another point. Atheists have to have control of the conversation because it gives them power and makes them members of the ruling class.

If we buy into the lie that they are all so smart and listen and obey their fallacious notions we become their slaves and have to depend on them for everything. That’s why they try to dominate education, politics and the culture. It gives them the control and those who are in control are the ruling class. Pure and simple.

I believe that the smartest of this bunch really know the flaws in the argument about creation and purpose, God and eternity, but it really doesn’t matter to them. Many would continue on as they are even if they have concrete proof that God exists, because in their minds, they don’t want to be accountable to Him.

So the atheist is easy to understand. I know him, I have studied him often. He is an open book. What I don’t understand is the Christian.

Christians are supposed to know the Truth, that Truth with a capitol T that doesn’t care what you and I think of it, it merely is. If we who are Christians know this Truth, why are we so afraid to share it? Instead of fighting the constant onslaught that is the liberal left, fueled by the doctrine of the atheistic, humanist high priesthood, (scientists), we crawl in a hole and keep silent and wait for a rapture that is never coming.

That’s right my Christian friends, I don’t believe in the rapture. Are we still friends? The rapture is just a made up word and notion that someone made up that never appears once in the Bible. Surprised? Well, it doesn’t. Millions of Christians are walking around day after day waiting for Jesus Christ to come down out of the sky and save us from the decadent world and bring us justice, whisking us all away to the sweet by and by of Heaven. Well, that’s not going to happen.

See, the Bible verses quoted to give us this idea of a rapture and the end times are taken out of context and woefully misused. Most of the prophecy of the Bible is closed, having been fulfilled in Bible times. Most of prophecy is a prophet telling the people there will be consequences for their actions and that God will bring justice in their times to the sin and rebellion of the people. The people have the opportunity to change their ways and of course they don’t, and thus, God’s wrath is realized.

So where does all this end times crap come from? Many believe Bible authors wrote coded messages stating when Jesus will return with judgment and free us all from the sin and awfulness of this world. Hogwash. They even quote Jesus himself. “When will you return and what will be the sign of your coming.” Etc. Well most of those old quotes of Jesus have been fulfilled in the disciples’ own lifetime or shortly after, in the first century. Jesus accurately predicted the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Jewish temple as a recompense for His rejection from the Jews. He wasn’t predicting his ultimate return 2,000 plus years out. He was talking within His generation, the generation he was living in. And as he predicted, the end of the Jewish world arrived. The Jewish nation was destroyed, the temple burned, their city sacked, end of story.

The tragedy from this story is that we as Christians don’t really understand what Jesus was talking about when he predicted judgment on the  Jews and their temple. We erroneously believe he is coming back to judge this generation, but we are not the primary audience of the scriptures, the Jews and Gentiles of Jesus’s day were the real audience. The scripture is useful to us in that we can understand by reading what God’s plan is for redemption for us, since we do not have the power of redemption within ourselves.

We have abdicated our power to change this world in his name because we think it is a hopeless cause and Jesus is coming back soon anyway so what’s the use in trying. This is why Christians throw up their hands and don’t engage in politics or culture and live their lives in quiet suffering, doing the best they can while they wait for the end. But this is not what Jesus wanted us to do.

The great commission Christ gave us is to preach the Gospel to the whole world and not to stop until all who have heard can either accept or reject it. And, we’ve failed in our mission because of an erroneous reading of Bible prophecy. Shame on us.

We need to get re-engaged and get back out there and fight for the culture, and not to accept the lies of the left. We can see all around us the fruit of their world view. It is up to us to change it.

Jesus will come when he comes, but we meanwhile have a mission and we have not done it. We need to get back to work.
